Making Cider at the Farm
Sarah busy at work on the farm. Washing the apples, milling the apples, pressing the apples and creating beautiful juice!
Fermenting the Cider
The juice is then put into tanks to ferment. Once fermentation is completed we rack the cider off the lees, putting it into another tank to mature. When the cider has matured we have a delicious drink ready to bottle and sell. Unless we are making sparkling cider, which then undergoes an additional in-bottle fermentation. The whole process from apple to bottle takes 6-8 months. Our cider is 100% apple juice with minimal intervention.
Our Apple Mill
We turn it on, put the apples down the tube and the mill cuts them up for us. Magic!
Our Hydropress
Once the apple has been milled it is put into our hydropress, the water is turned on and juice flows out. The juice is then poured into our tanks to ferment into cider.
